Last night I watched again a movie that probably impacted me back in 2000, in a way much more than I thought at that point in time… “What women want” with Mel Gilbson and Hellen Hunt.

Ah, such brilliant product placement when I had no idea what that was, plus the way of presenting the advertising world, the glam life, the clients, the challenges, the changes in society that were seen… yes, apparently a light romantic comedy whose pitch to NIKE and the tagline “no games. Just sports.” stayed with me for years.

I wanted to be this woman they are describing in the pitch for so long, until last year I actually made it happen.

But first things first… have a look at the pitch.

This is also one of the reasons why I picked NIKE as a case study for my peer-to-peer assignment for my Coursera Managing Luxury and Fashion Company course.

So, as I was saying I made it happen! 5km run for a good cause – breast cancer. And this was one of the motivators, to prepare for the race but I truly wanted running to be a part of my life and one day at the gym… like Forest Gump says it well “I just felt like running” and I got on the treadmill and I never felt like stopping. And I hope I never will, unless I choose to do so.
