Italian gem – part 1
Ah, la Bella Italia! La Dolce Vita… how lucky can one people get!
History, culture, architecture, food…
From the Roman Empire; to pasta, pizza and gelato; to colourful and luxurious fashion sense; to melodic language; to friendly people; to Sofia Loren; to the best shoes in the world (and that’s a fact, coming from an aficionado)… and now… as I discovered – to Genoa.
Genoa… 2h and 15min away from my place in Nice, and seriously… I know how blessed I am to live here.
But this, having THIS, this close to me.. brings the quality of life to a whole other level (currently ignoring the Corona issue and thinking of normal circumstances, no travel issues and no lockdown).
I have always loved Italy for the reasons mentioned above, and I have fallen in love with Capri, the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany… yet little did I know that this port city – Genoa – in Liguria would surprise me so much.
To start with, the drive there from Nice to Genoa, on the mediterranean coast is truly one breathtaking sight…
But I will tell you more in Part 2 of this story, as we are Sunday, 10pm, and I after a full weekend I am ready to call it a day. I just wanted to start writing this and give you, my kind reader, a bit of a taste about what is to come. Maybe the Dolce Vita also speaks to you?!
Til next time…
